On the eve of the 157th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation at the historic First African Baptist Church (Savannah, Georgia), Pastor Matthew Southall Brown, Sr., and National Book Award winning poet Terrance Hayes reflect on the historical realities that preserve the Lowcountry’s sacred Watch Night ritual and Emancipation Day services. Directed by Radiclani Clytus of Round-O Films and Produced by Angel Parson of Spoonfed Media.
