This annual commemoration pays tribute to the 75 families and descendants of the 1942 Harris Neck Community who were displaced from their land by the federal government. This event includes a commemoration walk, lectures, and archeological site visits.

This free, heritage festival was created to promote and bring attention to the Gullah Geechee people’s history and cultural expressions as exemplified by the sweetgrass basketmaking tradition. An exciting day of crafting, storytelling, music, food and fun!

The GGC Commission will conduct its’ next quarterly, public meeting at the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center in St. Augustine, FL. Member of the public are invited to make presentations about issues impacting Gullah Geechee communities, land and culture.
